The Standards We Work To
White Spot Group operates a quality, environmental and health and safety management system built to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, independently certified by SCI Qual International. Below is what each standard governs, what it means for your site, and the policies that sit beneath it. We have also set out plainly what our certification covers, because you should be able to check it rather than take a badge on trust.
Certification Covers the System. Training Covers the People.
ISO certification tells you our systems are audited. It does not tell you whether the person cleaning your treatment room at 6am knows how to do it properly. Those are two different assurances, and you should ask a contractor for both. Our cleaners are police vetted, inducted to the site they work on, and trained annually in health, safety and infection control, with additional training for the environments that demand it healthcare and medical, early learning, food handling, and hard-floor and carpet care.
New Zealand also has its own recognised cleaning qualifications: the NZ Certificate in Cleaning at Levels 2 and 3, including supervision and specialist cleaning strands, delivered on the job through Careerforce. That is a fair thing to ask any contractor you shortlist, including us.
Twelve Years in Regulated Environments
White Spot Group has cleaned regulated environments since 2014: medical centres, early learning services, schools, aged residential care and food-handling sites, where the standard is set by a regulator rather than by the client. Scale matters here for one reason. A management system is only worth having if it is applied the same way on every site, on every shift, whether anyone is watching or not.

Why It Matters Who Cleans Your Site
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, your duty of care does not stop at your own employees. When you engage a cleaning contractor, both organisations are PCBUs with overlapping duties, and the Act requires you to consult, cooperate and coordinate with one another. Your contractor's safety system becomes part of your risk position.
So if a contractor cannot show you documented hazard controls, people who are trained and inducted, and incidents that were reported and closed out, that gap sits with you as much as with them. It is the practical reason to ask about certification and safety systems before you compare hourly rates.
Our Management System, and What It Covers
Our management system is built to ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. These are the same standards used by large facilities operators worldwide. They govern how we document scopes, run audits, manage risk and close out corrective actions on every site we service in New Zealand. A certificate is only as good as the scope written on it, so here is ours plainly. White Spot Group's ISO certification is issued by SCI Qual International, and its current scope covers the group's Australian operations. Our New Zealand teams work to that same documented system. We will send you the certificates so you can read the scope yourself, and we would encourage you to ask every contractor you shortlist the same five questions: which legal entity holds the certificate, what scope of work it covers, which countries and sites it names, who issued it, and when it expires.
ISO 14001 Environmental Management
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management. It governs how we select and use chemicals, how waste and recycling are handled on site, and how we protect surrounding gardens, waterways and public areas. For clients it supports your own sustainability reporting and answers the environmental questions that now appear in most New Zealand tender documents.
ISO 9001 Quality Management
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management. On a cleaning contract it means the scope of work is documented, teams are trained against it, inspections are scheduled, and issues are logged and closed out through a defined process. For clients it produces an audit trail. You can see what was agreed, what was delivered and what was corrected, rather than relying on informal assurances.
ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management
ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety management. It sets how we identify hazards, assess risks and apply controls on every site, and it supports incident reporting, site-specific safety planning and ongoing training. Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 your duty of care extends to contractors working on your premises, so a contractor with a documented safety management system reduces your exposure as well as ours.
The Policies Behind the Certification
Certification proves the system is audited. These policies are what it is audited against. Each sits under our management system, names an owner and a review date, and is written to the New Zealand legislation that applies to your site. All are available on request and at prequalification or tender.

Request a Fixed-Price Proposal for Your Site
We assess your building during the hours it is actually serviced, document fixture counts and floor areas, and return a task-by-task scope with a fixed price, quoted excluding GST with GST shown separately at 15%. If you are changing providers, we manage the Part 6A transfer under the Employment Relations Act 2000, so your existing team retains its terms and continuity of service.
